CD Label Designer is intended to design and print disc covers, labels and booklets. It supports multiple formats and sizes, such as sleeves and business cards. For some of these formats, the application allows working on multiple pages when it is required. Unfortunately, its interface looks old-fashioned. However, it is quite easy to use and there’s even a wizard that does almost everything for you. In addition, if you’re an unexperienced user, you can follow the steps suggested in the getting-started tutorial.
Various types of objects can be added to your design, including formatted text, images and shapes. Although the application comes with a few pictures you can use as background, it would have been better if it provided some templates as well. Various picture formats are supported and users can import images from a scanner. One of its advantages is that it allows creating a song list, and for this purpose, the program can connect to an online database and retrieve the titles included in a given music album.
All in all, CD Label Designer is appropriate for the task it was designed for. Luckily, since you can freely change the canvas size, the utility can also be used for designing other types of printed materials, such as stickers and labels.
